I'd really like to know if you think my female friend might have feelings for me. We've worked together for 2 years now. We're really close and she trusts me quite a bit. I would recommend a school in Wellington. Auckland is very much like the States (although I don't know where you are from). Wellington has a bit more charm and more diverse things to do. It also makes for easy access to the South Island as that is where the ferry runs out of. Wellington also has excellent public transportation to get around town if you don't have a car. I was there from Nov - May and the weather was fantastic... warm sunny summer days but not too hot. I hear the winter isn't too harsh either, rarely snows enough to accumulate on the ground. Although if you like the snow, obviously head south!

Me and this girl are friends, or at least we were fairly friendly up until the beginning of April this year. Our time tables don't really match up, I work days and she works nights, I have the weekends off but she usually reserves that for her boy friend. New Zealand in 8 days -- what to see and do?

My family of 3, including myself, is looking at 8 days in New Zealand in the first couple weeks of July 2011. We would like to visit both the north and south island, concentrating more on the south island. That your recruiter is an active duty Soldier has nothing to do with his knowledge of how AITs are arranged. All AITs and BCTs are done on Active Duty bases and all training for all branches of the Army are the same. We can't just move an AIT start date for you. You can ask your recruiter if there is an earlier AIT scheduled and he might be able to assist you in making arrangements to attend that one, but if one doesn't exist, it doesn't exist. What you can do is inform your professors that you will be two weeks late returning from an active duty service obligation and often they will work for you if you make up the work. Good luck!

Which is better for individuals depends on their own life circumstances. Active duty's great for me, but doesn't work for everyone.

Questions about how to get my parents living on post with us.?

My mom came and lived with us for quite a while at three different posts. Stewart, Riley and now Huachuca. They don't have to be dependent upon you, but there needs to be a reason for them living with you if they aren't. Health issues on their part or yours, assistance during deployments, things of that sort. I have some health issues and have had multiple surgeries so they okay'd her living with us for that reason. They didn't ask for documentation and they even put us on the list for a house with one more bedroom then we currently are living in. She received an ID card and a sticker for her car. It occurred to me today that people have gone in and out of my life, and I don't feel the least bit of attachment towards any of them. My best friends have moved on, or away. What are my options for defamation of character on my business?

I own a bounce house business and we rent both wet and dry units. The wet price and a different price from the dry price. I live in California. I have contacted my local Public Defenders office and they say I do not qualify. There MUST be some way I can get these off my record so I can seek more gainful employment and restore my broken marriage. My wife is insistent that the crimes are off my record though she knew about them before we were married; I was given false information years ago by my public defender that the process would not be hard to get them expunged, in which I passed that information on to her when we were still dating. Though the best case scenario would be that the love my wife had for would be so great that something like this wouldn't matter, unfortunately thats not the case right now and I KNOW God brought us together and I am tryng to make sense out of all this and I have to believe that there is some way to make these felony's disappear. I am off probation, I only served county jail time, I have paid all my restitution and I have not not been convicted of anything since. These crimes were strikeable offenses and I did receive strikes (you cant strike out on 1 case). I have a 17 year suspended sentence. There has to be something I can do, no matter how bad my chances may seem, to get these off my record. I was looking at 20-35 years in prison and by the grace of God alone, I only served county time. There has to be something that california law, some exemption, some loophole or special circumstance? Joining the Army Reserve perhaps? Really I am open to all suggestions. Wrong, you can do ROTC in grad school, it's just kind of awkward. It's simply a class you sign up for. Also ROTC is not 4 yrs, it's really only two but in order to be in the last two years you must do one of the following: A) complete first 2 yrs of ROTC. B) complete basic training/AIT(do guard or reserves) or C) take a 5 week summer course called LTC( google it). BAD SAT Subject Test :( Help!?

I recently got a 660 on the Math Level 2 Subject Test. Ever since January, my SAT scores have been dropping and I'm really beginning to lose confidence. Do you know how much SAT subject tests affect college admissions if I'm looking at top schools (e.g. Georgetown, BC, Notre-Dame, Johns Hopkins)? My SAT scores would be my downfall. New Zealand in 8 days -- what to see and do?

My family of 3, including myself, is looking at 8 days in New Zealand in the first couple weeks of July 2011. We would like to visit both the north and south island, concentrating more on the south island. We like to see cultural and city sites, but we are also nature lovers as well, wishing to spend perhaps 5 - 6 days on the south island seeing the mountains, fjords, glaciers, sounds, etc. We currently are looking at 2 nights in Auckland, 1 night in Wellington, 2 nights in Christchurch, and 3 days in Queenstown -- would this be suitable for our interests? Is this a sufficient amount of time in each city? We are looking at flying into Auckland and flying out of Queenstown. Also, what is the best way to get around? Am I gifted or just bright?

I saw my mum looking up information about the johns Hopkins program for gifted and talented students. She was on their website because I scored above 95 on my ERBs. I did the SCAT test but i only got into the online programs for verbal and math. Last school year i was in the second highest math class(fast moving) and on my mastery i got a 95( 5 points extra credit so i really got 100). Also in my math class i was very bored because i already knew all of the material that my math teacher taught us. The school year before the past one i got a 99 on my math mastery(no bonus) and most of the time was put with the most advanced group. Last school year in math it was very rare for me to get below an A on everything my math teacher gave us to do. At the end of the year i finished with not grade below an A in all classes with an A+ in math (I go to a private school) . I looked up the signs someone gifted and i have the majority of them. In all of my classes i learn extremely quickly and have never gotten below a b+ on a test when I'm not trying. Again in the past school year in my math class i never got below a 99 on a graded classwork/test/quiz. If your wondering why i want to know it's because i just want to. Also i was on funbrain.com and i did levels 2 grades above me and finished the math arcade. My mum also says that i am more mature then most people my age. One time she had to ask if i could be moved into the next grade level class. Basically the only signs of a gifted child that i don't have are collecting materials and i enjoy my peers. One last thing. On all of the online quizzes that i've done they all said that i was gifted. And to make sure it was a little accurate i made my older sister do the same test/quizzes and it said that she wasn't. I also have a pretty good memory. Even if i am not involved in a situation i can remember conversations or words that were spoken.

I spent 5 years there and did university. Don't do manakau....auckalnd is cool but the rest of nz is what stands out and make it different. (manakau is south auckland) If your a partier then hit dunedin or wellington. Both islands are beautiful and easy to get around, obviously the north island is warmer though for the most part. Enjoy your time there.

It would all depend on your GPA and test scores, the first five seem to be pretty tough to get in. For Ivy League it seems as though you need more than just a good GPA, test scores, and a playing a few sports because most people have that, you need something that sets you well beyond any other kid. Maybe the University of Florida or University of Miami would be easier to get in since they aren't as prestigious.

I don't know of an option for Reserves. However, you can be in National Guard and ROTC at the same with the Simultaneous Membership Program. All Universities that offer ROTC have SMP as well. You commission as a 2LT upon graduation and owe 8 years of guard duty afterwards.

I'd really like to know if you think my female friend might have feelings for me. We've worked together for 2 years now. We're really close and she trusts me quite a bit. 12 x 12 or 12 x 16 dance floor for 75 guests or less?

We are going to reserve a 20x20 frame tent and pricing dance floors. A 12x12 is $288 and 12x16 is $384. 45K is very low! It's not worth moving over to live a comfortable life. For your type of industry, a decent pay would be around 60-80K. Rent in Auckland has gone up significantly. Most of your pay will go towards that and travel. Public transport systems are not as efficient as other countries, so having a car is a must, unless you live in the vicinity of your work. Fuel is expensive. If you have a lot of savings you are bringing over, settling in will be comfortable, otherwise your wife may need to find work eventually.

We'll be flying from Australia to Wellington, staying 2 nights in Wellington, 1 night in Rotorua, and 2 nights in Auckland. We would like to explore the north island with a car hire as well, driving from Wellington to Rotorua (and possibly visiting Tongariro National Park and the Waitomo Caves (glow worm caves) along the way), staying a night in Rotorua, then drive up to Auckland. I feel like employers would want soldiers for their training and soft skills, but as a reservists i would have to take some time off that could disrupt work. I think there are so many options I can see why you are confused. When in doubt, do nothing right away. You have listed the pros and cons of each move very well. Is your boyfriend your age? Is tatooing for the rest of your life appealing even if you could take your pets and your grandma? That is a huge question to ask yourself. Give yourself more days to ponder this. Not sure the cause of your bad home life but sounds like you need a change and if you go with your boyfriend you can get a job first of all. Set a date like the 4th or something to decide. Dont think about this issue all day but rather set aside mornings or certain times to deliberate it and do research on job possibilities you could get with your boyfriend. Im thinking that it might be worth living with him as an escape from your home life and that would in itself allow you clearer thinking but you really havent known him that long. Hmm. Good luck

Should I keep or cancel AP scores?

I decided to take the AP Euro exam without having the class or a tutor. I bought to Barron's book and read that along with buying flashcards and going through them. I took the exam and felt it was kind of rough, being pessimist I am I think I got a 2 or 3. Now I only have a few more days to cancel the scores or else I'll receive them in July at some time. My parents think that it's best for me to not cancel them and either just not report the scores or report it and believe that it will look good that I attempted an AP without having taken the class. I'm ending my junior year and I've always dreamt of going to Princeton. Is there any chance that I would be accepted into Princeton? I'm a white, middle class male from New Jersey, which is not in my favor. On the other hand, I'm ranked #1 in my class, and I have been recognized as a National AP Scholar, completing 8 APs since my freshman year. My SAT score is a 2280. My PSAT scores also indicate that I will be selected as a National Merit Semifinalist if not Finalist, and I am a member of the National Honor Society. For the past two summers, I have been accepted in the Johns Hopkins CTY program, studying cryptology and genetics in each respective summer. For the rest of the summer, I had waited on/ bused tables at the local diner in my town. In addition to schoolwork, I'm heavily into the arts and have been leads in 8 shows, a mix of dramas and musicals, since my freshman year, having intensely studied voice for the past 4 years. I'm a member of my school's acapella chorus, music ministry group, concert band, jazz band, and brass ensemble, playing the piano, three saxophones, and being able to sing. I'm heavily involved in my church and do large amounts of community service, having started a math tutoring business in my town for any age. I even started a Habitat for Humanity group at my school and have organized trips to New Orleans for two years to help build houses. With all of these assets, do you think Princeton will consider me for enrollment, or for enrollment in any other Ivy for that matter? If not, what can I do in order to improve application?

Am I developing depression?

Sometimes I just feel so down I want to cry, and I don't even have a particular reason. I have mood swings, from being fine to extremely cranky and irritable. I'll think I need a particular thing to make me feel better, that that one thing will make me all better. Often once I get that thing I feel no better, and if I do feel better its only temporary. And I often get very insecure in some social situations, and can be extremely reserved and shy. Are these the sign of depression?

Who is causing the problem? Me or Her?

Me and this girl are friends, or at least we were fairly friendly up until the beginning of April this year. Our time tables don't really match up, I work days and she works nights, I have the weekends off but she usually reserves that for her boy friend. Well that does not bother me, but what does is the fact that she assumed I was glarring at her a few weeks back and still has not let it go. I was playing football, and I saw her in the distance, with her current boy friend and I kept playing, she said hi to my father and left the game (she stopped by because her father was the coach of the team we were playing). The next day I was gone for a run, turn the corner and blow by her and her boy friend again, I didn't see them, she texted me latter saying "you know regular people tend to say hello to people they know". I told her what happened and she said I was lieing and avoiding the true reason behind me not saying hi to her (her current boy friend). At one point I did like her. So then a week goes by, I had been fairly busy I try talking to her but she bairly talked to me until i was leaving, she said "FYI ... if you want to be my friend ... try harder". I asked her what was bugging her and she said "Well the fact you glared at me at the football game, and the fact you are lieing why you didn't say hi". I told her I had been busy and kinda down (I have had issues sleeping and been depressed). Well the next time I saw her I didn't know what to do, I have become a bit frustrated with this and well after a few mins I walked over and said hi, she brought up me glarring at her at the football game again and I kinda don't get why she won't let this go, its been a few weeks. What can I do to improve this situation?? Or is it just me?
