How do I get from Auckland to Castle point via boat transport?

I've heard of getting to Castlepoint via boat transport from Auckland. You see, I need to get to Masterton and I'm thinking that this might be my cheapest option. I don't have a lot of spending money, so I need to follow the cheapest route. Otherwise, how else can I get from Auckland to Masterton the cheapest way possible?
